I got to do this greywash bird on Steve’s arm Tuesday.
and here’s a detail of the head.
I would like this blog to be an outpost for Andy’s tattoo work, but I’ll let you all know what I’m doing as well. My latest thing is gardening. I don’t know what I’m doing. The idea of growing both vegetables and flowers is head-spinning. It can get really complicated. I’m trying to achieve a lush cottage garden in front of the house and delicious vegetables grown in containers in the back of the house. That’s the idea.
Out front, it looks like a mess of plants with no rhyme or reason. At least it’s a mess of plants that I like, for the most part. After much physical exertion, I ripped out 2 hated barberry bushes this afternoon. It was so satisfying even though it probably isn’t very nice to get rid of plants that were perfectly alive. Barberry bushes don’t fit the informal garden aesthetic and they had to go. There’s 2 more barberry bushes that will meet their demise tomorrow. Maybe.
I tried to grow vegetables last year and failed miserably. I tried to grow green peppers. They never grew. The basil died. Nothing. I figured out now that there isn’t quite enough sun on the back porch. This year, I’m focusing on leafy greens. They seem to be doing pretty good. I’ve already eaten some romaine lettuce and the kale is coming along. From the seed potatoes sprouted these incredibly lush plants, and I can’t believe that at the end of the season, there might be potatoes in there. Here’s hoping!
This was a line drawing for a 1/2 sleeve but the client wanted some flash that she bought of sugar skulls added to it. We did the outline a few weeks ago but I don’t think I should post it since it has someone else’s flash in it. I really liked this one and was kinda bummed when she took it in a slightly different direction. But hey, it’s her arm and she left happy, so that’s all that matters really.
The top flower sits more on on the top of her shoulder and the women is the main center piece. The clock and birds are on the inner arm.
Angelique found this one. Funny.
