I just finished watching the Zeitgeist Addendum. I was so-so on the Zeitgeist movie, unsure about it really. But the Addendum is truly breathtaking. Inspiring. You should take the time to watch it.
I wrote that last night after just watching the documentary. After thinking about it more and not getting much sleep because of that I’d like to expand a little. This documentary is amazing. I have never felt as in tune with a ‘movement’ or thought process as I have since seeing the Zeitgeist Addendum. Is it perfect? No. Does it answer everything for me? No. I need to digest and research things more but the two hour introduction is breathtaking. That’s for damn sure.
So again. I can’t stress enough that you should take the time to watch this amazing documentary. Zeitgeist Addendum.
Edit – 12/1/2009: So I’ve been reading and studying rather heavily lately on this topic. Very fascinating really. There’s a few issues I really like about the Zeitgeist Addendum but there’s also some topics I’m not crazy about. I like the idea of a new system not based on money but on resources and intellect. I like what he says about on organized religion. Our economy definitely needs to change somehow. But I’m not sure if everything put forth in this movie are legitimate concerns or ways of addressing these problems. I don’t know, but again that’s one thing that is great about this movie. We should always question, study and learn.
So we had a really nice {vegetarian/vegan} Thanksgiving. I’m grateful and thankful for what I have…great family and friends. “The Moms” know how to make a great spread and it’s always so delightful.
And I’m sending all my love to the turkeys! Today is Turkey Day for me, too. Because I love them and I will never eat one ever again. Ever pet a white turkey? So soft and fluffy, like a pillow!
You can visit Farm Sanctuary and pet one of those cuties yourself. You most certainly wouldn’t meet white turkeys where most of them live nowadays, in a factory farm. A place of untold, unseen pain and horrors. Factory farms are shielded from our eyes so it’s far too easy to just go about our merry way without thinking twice about where our food comes from.
I’m one of those people who have purposely exposed myself to videos taken at factory farms. It’s difficult, and it’s just as disgusting as you would expect it to be. Watching the footage, via Mercy for Animals, made the decision to go vegan pretty simple.
I’m not a perfect vegan by any stretch of the word. (By the way, I will be vegetarian until the day I die.) I always tell myself that I’m on a journey, and each day, each meal, I can decide how I will eat. People always say that I “can’t eat” this or “can’t eat” that. But the fact is, I can eat it, if I wanted. 8 or 9 times out of 10, I choose not to. The holidays can be somewhat difficult as I will be tempted by my sister’s Italian ricotta cookies or some good Northeastern Pennsylvania nut or poppyseed rolls. I may fall prey to the glories of ricotta, but in large part, I feel that it’s important to try to stick to what makes me feel the best inside. That’s really the best I can do.
And with that, I hope that all of you who read this blog had a warm and fulfilling Thanksgiving, however you decided to celebrate it.
I just want to say thank you to friends today. I’ve had the pleasure of having some very talented, nice, creative, interesting people in my life. I’ve lived in a few locations here and there in these 34 years on this earth and as I look back I think it’s really amazing all of the great people I have met. Thanks everyone.
I just came from the store, and I saw a guy wearing a leather cowboy hat and a leather jacket. No big deal. But he topped his look off with…sport sandals.
It was fug.

Getting ready to do this today. Dude wanted it pretty disturbing. Is this good enough. Its a cover up of his ex-wifes name on his chest. Crazy.
We gotta go see this!!!
The Road
being this dog…

This is how Lucy spends her days.
If you’ve been reading my blog (THANKS!) you know life has been crazy this last year. Working two jobs while completing my tattoo apprenticeship has been intense to say the least. Add my work for Cap City Cross and OMBC to that pile, and life is definitely hectic. But you know what, there’s been two things that kept me above water. 1. The most important. ANGELIQUE!!! Thanks lady, I couldn’t have done it with out you. You are awesome. and 2. I love it. Tattooing is my passion, my love. Even better than riding a bike. I feel an amazing zen like relaxation as I look down at the fresh tattoo I created for someone. It’s amazing and I wake up everyday happy knowing that I’m pushing myself into something I truly love.
This fact has been reaffirmed now that I started reading CRUSH IT! by Gary Vaynerchuck. He details how to turn what you love into what makes money for you. And it’s not BS. He’s not saying ‘hey, you’re going to be a millionaire.’ It’s more like, you can make a living doing what you love or doing what someone else loves for you to do (like a claims inspector!). So here’s the tools and info on how take your passion and make a living out of it. Good stuff for everyone, but especially great for my current circumstances. It makes sense and it’s reassuring that the steps I’m walking down are the right ones and with hard work and dedication I’ll be able to do alright with this tattooing thing.
Nice. Ok. Don’t ask me why posted this. oh I know, so maybe others will say ‘fuck it’ and take that road that’s a little less traveled but ultimately leads to real happiness. Go for it!
