You gotta say fuck it to somethings. You can’t control everything all the time ya know. My biking has definitely suffered the last year. People I would crush in a race are suddenly riding away from me. But it’s cool. I’m happy to be out there on the bike pushing myself and seeing old friends. It’s good times.
Yesterday I raced the Dillon state park mtb race. Took the rigid 29er out, now converted to 1×8 that drops its chain ever 10 minutes. I easily lost 10 minutes stopping to fix that thing. Oh well, it was fun. Came in last but had a blast. Great course.
Fumbling around on my phone trying to blog about our trip to Wagfest, and I somehow erased it ALL. Screw it.

Mason loves root beer, we all know this. Right? So what better way to declare his love than with a nice tatty of it. Did this Saturday morning. First time I’ve done a stomach tattoo, which is one the hardest areas to work on. Fun!
Went bike racing on Sunday. Ombc at caesers creek. I always have terrible luck there. This year was no different. Broke my chain and got food posioning. Puked SIX times. Ugh. Maybe next time.

Found this awesome packaging at the hallal market around the corner from the tat shop. Pretty funny.
We had hallal market day. Two dozen of the best falafel you’ve ever had. Stuffed grape leaves. Hummus. Baba. And spinach. Throw in some awesome pita. Good foods.

So I saw an ad for a tag sale in Upper Arlington. The house and all its contents were for sale. I always like going to these things because, often, it looks like things were left just as the owner left them. It’s also fascinating to discover what kind of people lived there, and what their passions were. Today I walked around a midcentury house that was just a delight. Yes, it needed some work, but that’s because most of it hadn’t been touched since the early 70’s! That equals awesome! I tried to snap some photos, but my crappy phone camera did it no justice. What I wouldn’t give to have that house! Shall I start sawing off my right arm now, or later?

We did some role playing yesterday. A customer comes in and you have an hour to draw up a sweet tatty. He wants skulls and it to say ‘true till death’. It’s going on the inside forearm. This is what I came up with.

I just did this last night on Judd, an awesome bike mechanic and good dude. He said ‘I want a tree with with a bike wheel in it. What ya think?’. This is what I came up with.
In slightly related news: I want a Rumblefish!

Chris's Fox tattoo reworked
Chris (owner of Trek Store Columbus and my boss) wanted me to rework his Fox shoulder cap last week. All the color fell out of the flames over the years, so I got to slam it back it.

This one is for the lady! She’s in London this week partying down with her sisters but I know she’s missing her little girl. (And the little girl is definitely missing her). So here’s a pic of miss Lucy pants during her favorite past time, playing fetch. Enjoy london lady, we miss you!
