was fun. This was 2 weeks ago. I have a newfound love for turtles now. Look at these 3 guys. They just floated around in the water, stacked on top of one another. It was strange and very cute.

I was just walking Lucy and saw something on the sidewalk in the distance. I thought it could have been anything from a particularly large mourning dove (hey, I’m blind) or a piece of debris. But when we got close, I couldn’t believe it.

I don’t know if Mr. Turtle ever got across the street to safety. A neighbor guy was the only one brave enough to try to move him, and Turtlepants did not appreciate it. He snapped at him, moving pretty quick for a turtle.
I think that this was a common snapping turtle, after looking at the Ohio DNR website and acknowledging that yes, he does snap. Neato!
It may be time, he said, to “put her out to pasture.”
I’m talking about my 1998 Honda Civic. She’s very ill, indeed. I just replaced the muffler today ($) only to find that the exhaust manifold is cracked ($$$). And then it was.. I need this, I need that, when was the last time I did this, etc. Meanwhile, I’m staring at them like, “A tune-up? Ummmmmmm……?” No clue.
Now, these guys at Mr. Tire are very nice. I actually do not get the feeling that they’re ripping me off. As far as maintenance goes, well, I was good for getting the oil changed (well, pretty good…) but that’s about it. If I were still in Pennsylvania, my car would have failed inspection long ago. $$$$$$
Needless to say, I have begun giving thought to what my next car will be. These are my thoughts, as far as new cars are concerned.
Honda Fit (My top choice, but it seems like they’re hard to find. And I’m not super crazy about the color choices. Blackberry Pearl is the front-runner.)
Scion xA (I think it looks cute. I don’t know why they’re going to discontinue it. I don’t think the xD is as cute, but it’s okay I suppose.)
Toyota Yaris Liftback (Very cute. It’s a 2 door though. I don’t like 2 doors.)
So all of my top picks are new little hatchbacks. And there’s more little hatchbacks out there that I didn’t mention, really. (Nissan Versa, VW Rabbit, Mazda 3 or 5…) Then there is, of course, the option of buying a used little hatchback. And then of not doing a little hatchback at all, but something else entirely.
I guess I have some time to decide, since my Bessie hasn’t kicked the bucket quite yet. Geez.
